On behalf of the Hunter UK Retail Unit Trust, Hunter has successfully secured planning consent to transform a prominent listed building in the heart of Nottingham city centre.
The property at 22-26 Lister Gate, Nottingham is currently vacant however plans have been approved to create two ground and first floor retail units along with 156 student apartments in the upper levels and a newly constructed building in the currently empty service yard to the rear.
The development which is due to commence Q1 2022 will incorporate numerous carbon reduction techniques. Air source heat pumps will provide up to 70% of the development’s hot water requirements. Together with roof mounted solar panels, the site’s proposed energy strategy will deliver 63% of its energy needs through low carbon technologies. In addition, a green roof will help insulate the building, improve local air quality and reduce the urban heat island effect.
Hunter was advised by B3 Architects, Freeths and Knight Frank.
